Andre is a very talented filmmaker from Australia. We were so honoured when he asked us to capture his special day. Zellie and Andre were a dream to film. Working with such a lovely, young and alternative couple like this one meant we could really play with abstract shots and fast cutting.
Getting hitched abroad? We travel to you!
Creative, fresh and energetic. I shoot as unobtrusively as possible, rarely stage things for the camera and work closely with the photographers who tend to “run the show”. I am there to capture the story. I tend to avoid the usual “wedding video” shots. I hate the word wedding video – it is so much more.
Our turnaround time is generally between 9-14 weeks after the wedding.
If you have a particular request for something out of the ordinary I try to accommodate that but most weddings follow a natural flow of events. You can select the music you would like me to use.
Our average wedding films are about 60-90 minutes in length. It all depends on the length of your speeches, etc.
Ideally, having the ability to move freely in both the ceremony and reception venue produces the best footage. However, I’m flexible and able to shoot in all types of environments. We try to be as unobtrusive as possible.
A signed agreement and a deposit is needed to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due 2 days prior to the wedding date. A basic agreement needs to be signed upon booking our services.
Vision on Fire will take the utmost concern to create a high-quality finished product. However, we will not be responsible for circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to: power failure, equipment malfunction, severe weather conditions, inferior sound systems, audio or human interference, etc.
Your satisfaction is our primary goal. That said, you, the client(s), must acknowledge that the finished product is a creative work, and as such, reasonable artistic license/discretion will be used in the filming and editing of the finished video.
I always do my best to capture everything without distracting any of your guests. That being said, if you know that you want a particular moment recorded, let me know in advance. (For example: Get the centrepieces on the bridal table or make sure to get footage of my grandparents getting seated.)
Very good question. I have a very good german translator/editor here in Cape Town that I work with: Antonia from dnaphotographers.com. She is a very experienced journalist and photographer and she is originally from Germany. Please enquire should your wedding be in any other foreign language.
Our prices include our basic food expenses and living costs during our stay at the destination. Getting around is never a problem as we always rent car, atv or whatever is available at your destination.
Our prices include travel to main European destinations but excludes accommodation. Should your wedding take place on a remote island for example then there will be extra costs involved. We are either two or three operators at your wedding, it depends on the package booked.
We will always try to arrive 2 days prior to the wedding date and usually depart on the day after. We always prefer staying closest to where the festivities will be held.
We film on the Canon C100 and 5D MK3 range. We record and deliver in true crisp 1080p HD. What is great about these camera’s is not only the image quality but the small build of the body which means that we seem very unobtrusive on the day and it does not look like a “move set”. We film in documentary style and capture your day as is. We might ask the couple to do a few moves during the photo shoot :).
The extended cut is your “long” dvd. We are quite flexible with the extended cut. If there is anything you would like us to focus on more that day, we can, or for example include the entire ceremony as it happened in real time. It differs from couple to couple what is really important and sentimental to them, and we can customise it to what is the most important for you on the day. It will be best if we set up a Skype chat beforehand and go through your day plan in detail.
I do a lot of research online and I will also make sure that I arrive at the destination 2 days prior to the wedding. I like to get a few locations shots on the day before the wedding of the area and surroundings.
Ideally I would like to meet you the day or 2 days prior (depending on our arrival time) to the wedding. However I would like to set up a few skype meetings prior to the wedding date as well.
